The Canton International Fair was held for the 138th time in Guangzhou, Southern China. These massive fairs are open for three weeks, and you can find almost anything there – and what isn't on display can be requested through online offers. It is primarily a B2B event for importers, wholesalers, and retailers, but you can also purchase product samples if something interests you.
However, my main goal was to explore the service robotics section. As China is a world leader in robotics, they have an entire hall dedicated to this field at the Canton Fair. For those familiar with the fair complex, the robotics exhibitions were held in the Friendship Hall.
A few innovations really stand out:
- Extremely stable robot dog that keeps its balance!
- A healthcare assistant designed for remote areas, capable of checking blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and temperature. You can also initiate an online consultation with the press of a button.
- An attempt to produce an open-source humanoid robot for use in laboratories, education, and nursing homes. Their headquarters are in Shanghai, and I plan to visit there in the spring of 2026.
The development was truly impressive, and it is a testament to a future where technology is seamlessly integrated into our daily lives and work.
